A WORD FROM THE RECTOR
The AMU Botanical Gardens is already eighty-years old!
All these many years it has been serving research and education in general and the city of Poznań and its citizens in particular, all the while continuing to play a leading part in this field in Poland. The Gardens, which have been recently thoroughly modernised in respect to their flora collection, are not only therefore well respected for their educational role but valued also as a park open to all in Poznań. It is here that as an oasis of nature and peace in an otherwise busy urbanised suburb lacking in parks that all the family can come and relax, taking shelter in the myriad splendors of nature. In this respect, the 'Picnic in the Gardens' festival has gained a proud tradition in the past few years and is becoming increasingly popular.
